Signs / Symptons
|
|
Rheumatoid arthritis is characterized by red, swollen, painful joints that may be warm to the touch. With long-term rheumatoid arthritis, joints can become bent and gnarled. Stiffness, especially early in the morning, is often the second manifestation. In some cases, red, painless nodules appear on the elbows, ears, nose, knees, toes, and/or scalp Chest pain, breathing difficulties, and dry mouth/eyes may also occur.

Cause & Effect

The cause of rheumatoid arthritis is unknown. However, genetic factors are believed to play a role. Another theory is that a virus is involved in the development of the disorder. We believe there is a connection with poor digestion and/or exposure to environmental toxins that leads to increased toxicity and a burdened immune system. As with many conditions, stress and emotional factors trigger flare-ups.
